Customer Ordering (FOS)
The Food Ordering System (FOS) is CliqMenu's customer-facing web app. It is the digital menu and ordering experience your customers interact with when they visit your food truck, restaurant, or pop-up.
No App Download Required
FOS is a web application, not a native mobile app. Your customers never need to install anything. They simply:
- Scan a QR code displayed at your location, or
- Visit a direct URL you share via social media, your website, or printed materials
The menu loads instantly in any modern mobile or desktop browser. This removes friction and means every customer can order digitally from the moment they arrive.
What Customers Can Do
Once a customer opens your FOS link, they can:
- Browse your full menu organized by categories, with images, descriptions, and prices
- Filter items by dietary tags (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) to quickly find what suits them
- Customize orders by selecting sizes, toppings, extras, and other options you have configured
- Add items to a cart and review their order before placing it
- See transparent pricing including subtotals, surcharges, taxes (GST), and the final total
- Choose a payment method and place their order
- Track order status in real-time from the moment the order is received through to delivery
Payment Options
The payment methods available to your customers depend on what you have configured in BMS:
| Payment Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Cash at Counter | Customer pays with cash when picking up |
| Card at Counter | Customer pays by card at your counter terminal |
| Online (Stripe) | Customer pays securely online via Stripe Checkout |
Online payments are only available if you have connected your Stripe account in BMS. See the Stripe Setup guide for setup instructions.
How FOS Connects to Your Business
FOS is tightly integrated with the rest of CliqMenu. When you update your menu, prices, stock levels, or availability in BMS (Business Management System), those changes appear to customers in real-time. When a customer places an order, it flows directly into your OMS (Order Management System) for your staff to manage.
Your QR codes and direct URLs are unique to each of your locations. When a customer scans the QR code at a specific food truck or restaurant, FOS automatically loads the correct menu and location context — no manual selection needed.
